Night Vision Injected
If you've ever dreamed about having superhuman powers you could be in luck. Biohackers are working hard to bring the future to the now and they have hit the jackpot with night vision. A group from California have developed eye drops that will temporarily grant you night vision. And the night vision is being considered "excellent" quality.
While the night vision drops are still in the experimental stage the first trial proved to be a success.
The primary ingredient used in the drops is Chlorin e6, which can be found in some deep sea fish.
The fish use the ingredient to navigate the dark underwater regions."Essentially, it creates a microscopic chemical reaction that amplifies low light sources as they pass through." With the Chlorin e6 ingredient they combine insulin and saline solution to make the night vision drops. The drops have proved to last a few hours at a time.
The drops are placed into the conjunctival sac between the eyeball and eyelid, where it is then absorbed into the retina.
Initially the eyes appeared black, which the researchers claim disappeared after a few seconds. The researchers then ran various tests on the volunteer, Gabriel Licina. Licina was forced to wear sunglasses while inside to counter the effects of the drops with the interior lighting.
